About RedBSD

RedBSD is a FreeBSD-based distribution purpose-built for penetration testing and red team operations — a BSD-native alternative to Linux-based pentest distros. It pairs the stability, performance, and licensing of FreeBSD with a curated, organized collection of offensive security tooling, an XFCE-derived desktop, and SDDM login, all tuned for fast deployment in VMware-based labs.

The project is under active development. Tool categories — from wireless attacks and C2 frameworks to Active Directory exploitation and OSINT — are added incrementally, each integrated and tested against the FreeBSD base.

Responsible Use

RedBSD bundles powerful offensive security tooling. It is provided strictly for authorized penetration testing, red team engagements, security research, and education. Only use these tools against systems and networks you own or have explicit written permission to test. The RedBSD project is not responsible for misuse of the included software.
